Kellstadt Case Competition
Objective
The Kellstadt Case Competition aims to enhance student engagement with the business community by giving Kellstadt MBA/MS students a platform to apply classroom concepts to a real-world business challenge, develop strategic solutions, and receive feedback from industry judges and faculty.

Overview
The Kellstadt Case Competition is an annual event organized by the Kellstadt Marketing Group (KMG), a graduate student-led organization at DePaul University's Kellstadt Graduate School of Business. It gives students the chance to solve a current, real-world business challenge submitted by a corporate partner.
Eligibility
- Open to current MBA/MS students at the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business
- Students without a full team may register individually and be randomly assigned to a team
Format
- Teams (team size has varied by year, typically 3 to 6 members) analyze a business case provided by a corporate sponsor
- Teams submit a written proposal or executive summary outlining their strategy
- Top teams are selected to advance to Final Presentations, delivering a pitch (historically around 20 minutes) to a judging panel composed of representatives from the sponsoring company and/or faculty
- The event concludes with awards and a networking reception
Notable details
- Past editions have partnered with companies such as Microsoft, Cisco, Barilla, Kraft Heinz, United Airlines, and Discover Financial Services
- Designed as an experiential learning opportunity combining strategy development, teamwork, and presentation skills
