Infection Associated Chronic Conditions (IACC) Case Competition
Objective
'In one day, my life changed. I was fit, active, and an athlete. Then a cough turned into something that confined me to my bedroom and to emergency rooms. Some days, I'm lucky if I can get out of bed.'
Millions of people live this reality with Long COVID, ME/CFS, and POTS--chronic illnesses that strip away independence, end careers, and yet remain underfunded, misunderstood, and without treatment options.
This is more than a case competition - it's proof that grassroots advocacy, paired with business leadership, can change the future of healthcare.
Description
You came to business school to make an impact. The Infection Associated Chronic Conditions (IACC) Case Competition is your chance to implement what you've learned and do just that.
Our mission is to democratize the creation of business solutions for IACCs by demonstrating the potential for healthcare industry to change the current reality: no treatment options, lack of research funding and 17+ million Americans impacted.
During our event you will interact with real IACC patients as they tell their stories, learn from leading experts entrenched in the field, interact with our sponsors, form relationships and present your innovative solutions in front of an audience in the Tauber Colloquium at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business.
For your efforts you are eligible to:
- Win $10,000 in prizes (1st: $5,000, 2nd: $3,000, 3rd: $2,000)
- Have in-person coffee chats with Intermountain Health
- Network with other competitors, industry leaders, judges, experts and patients
- Have your resume distributed to all our sponsors in a 'resume book'
Competition Structure
- Applications close: Oct. 7
- 7 finalist teams announced: Oct. 9
- Prompt released: Oct. 10
- Virtual fireside chat: Oct. 13
- Competition day: Oct. 31, 9am - 5pm
