We are now looking for a Category Manager, Global Technology at our Procurement CoE in Madrid, Spain!
Your purpose -
In this role, you will be the strategic bridge between Procurement Category Leads, regional and global collaborators, and global enterprise technology vendors, to craft solutions to business challenges that eventually assure, protect and build value for PMI. This role offers you the chance to shape and lead high-impact IT procurement strategies in a multinational environment, with genuine influence on business performance and transformation.
Your day-to-day -
* Design and implement IT category strategies aligned to global, regional and local business priorities, ensuring value creation, cost optimisation, and effective risk management.
* Be the trend-setter and SME to lead market intelligence and supplier strategy, demonstrating deep IT market insight and supplier relationships to anticipate business needs, drive innovation, and unlock competitive advantage through the supply base.
* Own demand and spend management across IT categories, building robust sourcing pipelines, and effective multi-year cost optimisation and value delivery plans
* Lead sophisticated sourcing and commercial negotiations, driving best-in-class outcomes while building strong internal partnerships and stakeholder confidence.
* Develop and govern contractual frameworks, ensuring commercially robust, compliant, and scalable IT supplier agreements that protect the business and support long-term value.
* Lead strategic supplier relationships (SRM), including supplier segmentation, performance management, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Drive procurement process excellence and compliance, embedding effective governance, controls, and KPIs while continuously improving efficiency and ways of working.
* Champion sustainability and responsible sourcing within the IT supply base, embedding ethical, social, and environmental standards into procurement activity.
* Lead, develop and mentor procurement talent (where applicable), building capability, engagement, and succession within global and regional procurement teams.
Who we're looking for -
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds who bring leadership, innovation, and a growth mindset. You'll thrive in this role if you have:
* University / College degree in Economics, Business Administration, Computer Sciences, or related.
* 7-10+ years of experience in Procurement Category Management.
* 5-7+ years of experience in procurement of IT & Telecom or account management/sales in a IT specialized multinational; proven experience of existing relationships with key global vendors.
* A positive track record of crafting long term internal and external business relationships; influencing and leading change while providing strategic leadership.
* 5 years' experience in leading multicultural teams.
* Deep understanding of pricing and pricing models in different geographies/markets (global markets).
* Bid-management & contracting experience (including performance management and measurement).
* Proven strategic thinking skills with an advanced analytical mindset and fantastic negotiation skills
