IE Global Innovation Challenge
January 19, 2021

IE University SEPHORA Challenge is a case competition, showcasing Sephora’s international prestige positioning and IE University’s practical, interactive and international classroom experiences. Association between the two prestigious brands brings awareness and allows for expanded marketing and communication opportunities.

Selected participants will be invited to the exclusive opportunity to experience a class like project and learn about SEPHORA’s enhanced customer experience.

On Jan 12th 2021, participants will be presented the “SEPHORA SPAIN: CONTINUING TO INNOVATE & ENHANCE THE RETAIL CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE” case. Irma Ugarte, Marketing and eCommerce Director SEPHORA, will join Jose Esteves, IE University Associate Dean, to give students a real world account of the case intricacies, just like in a real IE University class.

After the presentation they will be assigned to mixed nationality teams of bright colleagues from diverse backgrounds and start to work together. To kick-off the conversation each team will have time with an IE alumna/us, specialist in the case’s topic.

The teams will have one-week to prepare and will reconvene on Jan 19th 2021 to pitch in front of a Jury of Sephora and IE University Directors and Professors.

Winners for team, communication and leadership prizes will be awarded important IE University scholarships and SEPHORA prizes.

We invite top analytical minds to represent their universities. Each team should consist of 4 students currently enrolled in a graduate-level program such as the MBA, Masters in Finance or Masters in Business Analytics.

Based on the application forms, selected teams will be invited to solve a business case fuelled by technology and innovation in the retail sector. The teams will also get an 'emergency' challenge while in Madrid with less than 12 hours to formulate an answer.
The solutions will be evaluated by a panel of top executives from Sephora, IE Business School and top consulting firms among others.
