Overview
The IFAMA Global Student Case Competition is an international case competition focused exclusively on the food and agribusiness sector, organized by the International Food and Agribusiness Management Association (IFAMA) as part of its annual World Conference.
Who can participate
- Undergraduate students
- Graduate students
- Early career professionals (generally under 35)
- IFAMA membership is required for participating team members
Team composition
- Teams of 3 to 5 members
- Undergraduate teams must consist only of undergraduates; mixed teams allowed within graduate/young professional levels
- Individual applications accepted; IFAMA can help pair students into teams
- Each team must have an academic or industry advisor, though students work independently from the advisor during the competition
Format
- Teams analyze a real-world agribusiness case under time pressure and present strategic recommendations to a panel of academic and industry judges
- Competition unfolds over multiple rounds during the IFAMA World Conference
2026 edition
The 2026 Student Case Competition will be hosted in Cork, Ireland, as part of the 36th annual IFAMA World Conference, held June 15-19, 2026, under the theme 'Rooted in Resilience: Revitalizing agri-food systems for an uncertain tomorrow.'
